Step Into the VR World of El Paso Electric

The Project

Our client El Paso Electric (EPE) has been transforming our region’s Energy Landscape for well over 100 years.
Now, they are once again working to reach a new milestone as our region’s energy experts.

To provide a clean energy future for generations to come, El Paso Electric has committed to providing
carbon-free energy by 2035 and to be 100% decarbonized by 2045. This means a total transformation in how they provide power to our growing region.

 

The Approach

The creative challenge of this campaign was that many of El Paso Electric’s efforts to reach their clean energy goals were either in planning or other developmental phases. We often see limitations as a great way to flex our creative muscles and this project was no exception. To bring to life the El Paso of 2045 for our campaign assets, we created
a VR world complete with El Paso Electric employee avatars.

At the outset of three unique commercials covering clean energy generation, expansion of EV’s and a triplication of current solar efforts, a live-action EPE team member dons VR goggles and takes us into a brightly animated world. 

A custom landing page with an interactive timeline of upcoming improvement projects, gave viewers a deeper dive into the utility’s continuing efforts to be a responsible and innovative energy partner.

 

The Results

Giving viewers a glimpse at their evolving clean energy future drove interest in EPE’s efforts at a critical time, as they found themselves facing continuous scrutiny from local action groups aimed at monitoring climate impact. For their part, El Paso Electric trusted that customers would see the value of work being done today, to ensure a cleaner, brighter tomorrow. We were proud to help spearhead this important initiative with an innovative, creative and successful approach.
